Common actions

The ability to send data to Dime.Scheduler is fundamental. In Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, this capability is available through actions. Actions are added to both entity cards and lists.

Common list actions include:

  • Send selection
  • Send all

Both list actions are available in the following pages:

Common card actions include:

  • Send entity
  • Delete entity

Send record

At any given moment, a record can be sent to Dime.Scheduler. If the record doesn't exist yet, it will be created. Otherwise, it will be updated.

Send record

If the default behavior is selected, each record in the tasks grid will represent a task in Dime.Scheduler.

Send selected or all records

Alternatively, if you want to send the records in bulk to Dime.Scheduler, navigate to the list. Click the 'More Options' button, followed by 'Actions'. In the Dime.Scheduler menu, you'll be able to choose to send the selected records or send all of them:

Delete record

It is possible to remove an item from Dime.Scheduler even after it has been made available earlier. By using the combination of the SourceApp, SourceType, and the entity's No. field, it is possible to trace back which item is stored in Dime.Scheduler.

When no appointments have been planned, you can safely execute this action, and the item (along with its associated tasks) will be removed from Dime.Scheduler. However, if appointments have been planned, you may encounter an error message indicating the existence of a planning. You can override this behavior by switching off the Check Appointment on Delete flag in the Dime.Scheduler Setup page in BC.

Check appointments

It is important to understand that when removing an item from Dime.Scheduler, the item will not be removed from BC.

Similarly, when removing an item in BC, it does not remove the corresponding item in Dime.Scheduler. Removing an item from BC without removing it from Dime.Scheduler result in phantom jobs, and Dime.Scheduler will be unable to write back the planning data for those jobs that no longer exist in BC.
