Microsoft Entra ID

First and foremost, Dime.Scheduler needs access to Microsoft Graph, which can be done by creating an Microsoft Entra ID App Registration for it. For instructions on how to do this, check out the next article.

Once you have filled out all necessary information, Dime.Scheduler is good to go and you can start synchronizing your planning with people's Outlook calendars. Don't forget to enable the Exchange integration in the resource setup and use an email address which your Exchange online administration can use.

Exchange to Dime.Scheduler

Getting appointments from Exchange to Dime.Scheduler requires more configuration, as can be seen in this setup page. To enable bidirectional traffic flow, tick the checkbox and set the range of the Microsoft Graph event deltas.

On the right-hand side of this section, you can choose whether to apply the same sync settings for all resources, or to let the resources decide for themselves which appointments should make their way back to Dime.Scheduler. Currently there are two filters: the 'Show As' status and the 'Sensitivity'.

Appointments will be sent to Dime.Scheduler for the resources who have given their consent to the following settings:

  • Enabled (in the resource setup, this field is referred to as Exchange integration (user))
  • Show as status (multiple choices)
    • Free
    • Tentative
    • Office
    • Out of office
  • Sensitivity (multiple choices)
    • Normal
    • Personal
    • Private
    • Confidential

If you will let the resource decide for themselves, they will need a user account. You can grant them access to the application, and if there a matching resource is found (through the resource's and user's email address), said users will be able to set their preferences in a dedicated page.
