Work Centers

In manufacturing, the work center is where the work actually happens, so a planner scheduling production needs those work centers on the planning board as something they can drop jobs onto. The connector builds Dime.Scheduler resources from the standard NAV work center table, and from that point scheduling against a work center is no different from scheduling against a person.

Setup

In Dynamics NAV, work centers are not a FastTrack solution of their own. They come with production routing planning. In the FastTrack wizard, select Enable Production Routing planning, then select Use Work Centers so the connector creates resources from the standard work center table.

Fast track wizard

See production orders for the rest of the wizard setup, including how order status maps to a category or time marker.

Usage

The connector adds a button to the work center card (page 99000754) that sends the work center to Dime.Scheduler as a resource. See common actions for how sending works across the connector.

Work centers are also refreshed by the scheduled master data sync. Each run of the DS Scheduled Synch. codeunit sends resources, filter groups, filter values, work centers and machine centers, provided production routing planning is enabled. See job queue for how to schedule it.
