Dime.Scheduler to Exchange

This page explains how appointments planned in Dime.Scheduler reach Outlook calendars, and the rules that decide which ones get there.

Dime.Scheduler to Exchange

How it works

The flow from Dime.Scheduler to Exchange works almost exactly like the Microsoft Dynamics back office connectors. Every change to an appointment on the planning board triggers a workflow that notifies the connected systems of a pending change to process. For the Exchange connector, the result of that workflow is a calendar event for each resource assigned to the appointment. Resources then see their up-to-date planning in their own email and calendar clients, such as Microsoft Outlook.

Business rules

  • Appointments are sent to Exchange for resources where the 'Exchange Integration Enabled' flag is set to true.
  • Those resources must have a valid email address and be reachable through the Microsoft Entra ID app.
  • You can define additional rules with the built-in rule engine.

Configuration

The connector listens for events in Dime.Scheduler and pushes them to Exchange. To enable that, supply these parameters:

  • The client id of the Microsoft Entra ID application
  • The client secret of the Microsoft Entra ID application
  • The tenant id of the Microsoft Entra ID application

Configure all of them in the Exchange config section in Dime.Scheduler. For the steps to set up the Microsoft Entra ID application, see the configuration guide.
