Group Capacity

When you plan against capacity, the schedule is only as accurate as the working hours behind it. Sending capacity one resource at a time is fine for a single technician, but tedious for a crew of twenty who share the same shift pattern. Group capacity solves that: it pushes the working hours for an entire resource group in a single action, so every member shows up in the capacity component with the same setup applied.

Under the hood this works just like resource capacity. The difference is that Dime.Scheduler reads Business Central's standard Resource Group Capacity matrix and generates the entries in bulk, applying the same capacity setup to every resource that belongs to the group.

To send group capacity:

  1. In the Resource Group Capacity matrix, select the resource group you want to update.

  2. Click the Send Capacity button.

  3. In the window that opens, enter a start and end date. The Resource Group field is already set to the group you selected in the matrix.

  4. Click OK.

Dime.Scheduler then generates capacity entries for every resource that belongs to the group, so the whole team's availability lands in the plan board at once.
