Installing the SDK
Add the Rust SDK to your project to call the Dime.Scheduler API from Rust. It ships on crates.io as dimescheduler, builds on Rust 1.77 or newer, and uses reqwest with the platform's native TLS, so there is no OpenSSL to set up on Windows.
Every method on the client is async. The crate does not bundle a runtime, so bring your own. The snippets in this section use Tokio.
- cargo add
- Cargo.toml
cargo add dimescheduler
cargo add tokio --features macros,rt-multi-thread
[dependencies]
dimescheduler = "0.1"
tokio = { version = "1", features = ["macros", "rt-multi-thread"] }
The SDK is currently in alpha. It installs like any other crate, but the public API is still settling: accessor names, method signatures, and the error type may change between minor versions until 1.0. Pin the version in your project and read the release notes before upgrading.
Unlike the .NET, JavaScript, Python and Go SDKs, the Rust crate does not retry failed requests. A 429 or a 5xx comes back to you as an error, and you decide whether to try again. See Errors and retries.
With the crate installed, the last thing you need is an API key:
